Over the past few Sundays, we've fitted the kids with their updated wardrobes for the 3 months I will be gone. Yesterday we spent some time cleaning up the mess we created in the clothing storage room. We prepared some boxes to send back down for permanent storage in the container. We pulled out boxes of shoes and decided to go ahead and update the girls' church shoes. We made them bring their old shoes before they could get a newer pair - otherwise we'd have all sorts of shoes floating around the property. Unfortunately we didn't have enough shoes to do anything for the boys. That will change at some point. The girls had enough fun for all of the kids – shoes are exciting stuff.
We took the old shoes we can't re-use – as well as a few boxes of old school shoes that have worn out - and let the staff look through and take what they could use. It was a good day for everybody.
