Silas and I left this morning at 6:30 AM with Pastor Samson and two of his sons, Elisha and Elia, to make a trip to Nyakaliro. I had an interim meeting with three of the Bible Institute students there, and Samson wanted to try to buy some corn out in the village for a better price. The car ride gave Samson and me some good time to talk, and Silas got to enjoy some time with his friends.
My meeting with students Marko, Laurent, and James, along with Elias and Hamisi was a Bible interpretation exercise. We looked at 1 Samuel 3, Kuitwa kwa Samueli, or Samuel's calling. It was a great time to review the principles that they were given in class to interpret Old Testament narrative.
The drive back was fine, except that at the ferry one of the fasteners for the terminal on the Land Cruiser's battery completely melted. I think that it went loose on the dirt road to and from Nyakaliro. It meant that we did a repair job a length of wire that we found at a shop. We had more helping hands than we knew what to do with. We were glad when we were able to get it started again.
We got back around 6:30 PM in time for dinner with Jana and Grace.
