There have been plenty of times that I have witnessed or experienced a jam in a printer or copier, the kind where the accordion-shaped paper is finally removed to permit the machine to continue doing its job. The other day, I think I experienced the most unique copier jam to date.
I was in the Bible Institute library making some photocopies for someone. I had the generator running to power the copier, so I was not able to hear the machine over the loud rumble of the engine. I noticed that the paper was slow in coming out. A quick peak “underneath the hood” made the source of the jam evident immediately. A lizard, a about 1.5 inches in length, had tried to make a quick retreat into the copier while it was running. He was crushed in between the rollers where the paper exits. Poor guy. At least he met his end quickly.
After removing him, I was able to continue with making the photocopies, but not without him leaving his mark on the next three sheets of paper. Needless to say, I redid those photocopies.
This is definitely the best photocopying story I'VE ever read. :)
