I took a little bit of time last week to find some Swahili podcasts. You can imagine there aren't many, there are a few available on the world wide web.
The first one that I look forward to listening (once we get reliable enough internet signal to download it regularly) is the Swahili broadcast of Voice of America. This one-hour daily newscast can be heard on the radio daily here in Mwanza but is available through the Voice of America website.
The second one are news clips that are daily produced by United Nations Radio. Most of this has to deal with the various political crisis and development work that the United Nations is doing, but more than anything I will be listening to the broadcast to try to keep sharp on my Swahili vocabulary.
The third one is produced by Thru the Bible International and are word-for-word translations of teaching from James Vernon McGee.
While there are others, these are the few that I will be tuned into in coming months.
This is a good help, John. Thanks for the info.
I am sure that things have changed here even since your last time in the country. Glad to hear that you keep up with things.
